SunMed Acquires Avanos Medical Respiratory Health Business 2023
SunMed, a leading North American manufacturer and distributor of consumable medical devices for anesthesia and respiratory care, has entered into a definitive agreement with Avanos Medical, Inc. (NYSE: AVNS) (“Avanos”) to acquire its respiratory health business, including the BALLARD, MICROCUFF, and endOclear® product lines.
This merger strengthens SunMed’s leading product portfolio, giving clients a one-stop shop for the most trusted and highest-quality anesthetic and respiratory care brands that improve patient outcomes.
SunMed is expanding its portfolio with market-leading brands, giving healthcare professionals and patients additional alternatives. BALLARD, MICROCUFF, and endOclear® closed suction catheters, endotracheal tubes, and oral care solutions are trusted by healthcare practitioners worldwide for their excellent quality and sophisticated technology.
The deal, subject to customary closing conditions
SunMed is also purchasing two Avanos manufacturing plants in Mexico and R&D capabilities to support these respiratory consumables.
