The 10th National Congress of the Indonesian Gynecological Endoscopy Society (IGES) will be held in Bali, according to the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati. The event is anticipated to generate strategies to improve reproductive health services.
“I strongly support and value this endeavor. “I hope that this event will produce strategies for reproductive health services,” he said in a statement received here on Friday.
Thursday, May 24, 2023, the deputy governor formally inaugurated the event conducted in conjunction with the 35th International Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy from May 24-27, 2023.
According to Sukawati, the issue of reproductive health is significant due to its wide-ranging effects and involvement in numerous facets of life.
Moreover, he asserted that women’s health is an indicator of the state’s capacity to provide health services to the community.
“Maternal mortality remains a global problem, including in Indonesia. Sukawati remarked that one of the goals of the 2020-2024 RPJMN (national medium-term development plan) in the health sector is to improve the health of mothers, children, family planning, and reproductive health.
He is also aware that the technology and medical devices used to facilitate surgical procedures are advancing rapidly at the present time.
Earlier, he had anticipated that gynecological endoscopy would be a part of the technology that enables minimally invasive surgery with benefits for both the doctor and the patient. Such technology already exists and incorporates gynecological endoscopy.
Professor Yudi Mulyana Hidayat, president of the Indonesian Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology, stated that gynecological endoscopy is a surgical procedure that aids in the diagnosis of the most common female disorders, such as scant vaginal bleeding, infertility issues, and endometrial polyps or benign growths on the inner uterine wall.
“A compact, slender optical device is used to diagnose the issue. Consequently, this congress will discuss gynecological endoscopy technology, endoscopy treatment, and other related topics,” he explained.
Professor Hidayat stated at the time that the 10th IGES Congress in Bali was co-located with the Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE), which attracted participants from numerous Asian, African, and other nations.
