From Freeform Shapes To Daring Snakes, Rugs Are Getting Louder

Each rug is handmade in India utilizing hand dyed New Zealand wool yarn and bamboo silk and is identified as after a toddler who created the unique design. Save the Children and the Young Center for Children’s Immigrant Rights and Proba have a new project in the works, working with a basis and a gaggle of younger girls. A collection of rugs outlined by a free use of color pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with the medium. Painstakingly handmade in Nepal, the collection features forty two different rugs that discover both traditional patterns and modern designs. British textile artist Tom Atton Moore created seven rugs in February that had been inspired by chemical compounds floating in the water of a countryside pond he noticed during a stroll. The massive scale colourful rugs are made from classic, deadstock yarn that was hand tufted, latexted, dried, pinned, certain and shaved with sheep shearing clippers by Atton Moore, making every bit distinctive and extremely tactile.
